Founded in 1974, Greg and Sue Boeger opened the doors to their family winery. For over 30 years the Boegers have been producing some of the best wines of the Sierra Foothills.
Boeger Winery has 5 vineyards within El Dorado County. The Estate Vineyard parcel is the largest at 70 acres. Also, they produce grapes at the Fossati Vineyard, Peek Vineyard, Ritchie Vineyard and Walker Vineyard. The terrian of each vineyards is characterized by steep hillsides, rocky soil, various exposures, and numerous micro-climates. These types of varied conditions are what allow them to grow over 30 different varietals all within a relativly small area.
It appears that Boeger Winery's primary advantage is the men behind the scenes. Greg Boeger and his son, Justin, combine their skills of experience, skill and knowledge in creating exceptional wines. Both men are graduates of the Univeristy of California, Davis. When you taste their wine, it is evident they did their homework!
