The folks at Cass Wines work very hard to ensure they're growing the best fruit available. For example, the Rhone varieties on the Cass Estate are genetically pure clones, having gone through 8 years of rigorous testing by an agency of the French Government (ENTAV) prior to being approved for sale in California in 1999. Cass Vineyard is among the first in California to offer Estate wines from these select vines.
That's some serious dedication to their craft!
Their vineyard is located in a small, low elevation valley east of Paso Robles. It is a cool spot in the middle of a hot region. The cool valley is a big plus in the fall as it helps to keep the grapes on the vine several extra weeks, adding to maturity and ripeness of the fruit.
Join the Cass Cafe Wine Club and you'll get to experience what maturity and ripeness does to their wines!
